Abstract

Abstract

The modern way of life encourages many of us to rely on artificial intelligence and virtual reality to explore beautiful places rather than experiencing them in person. As a result, many remarkable locations nearby are known to us only through social media. One such place is Charlottenburg, located 45 km from Timișoara in the northeastern part of Timiș County, nestled within a hilly landscape. Its circular layout makes it unique in Romania, which is why it has been recognised as a historical monument by the Ministry of Culture and Religion since 2016. In this article, we analyse this historical settlement, exploring its cultural values, rich biodiversity, picturesque natural environment, and surrounding forest ecosystems, all of which contribute to the uniqueness of this rural landscape. To promote these values, we propose several development ideas for the area.
